Team of 2 mediation experts (research and capacity building) to perform desk research, develop context analysis and development plans, provide capacity building and coaching on insider mediation

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently implementing the ”EU-UNDP Partnership on Insider Mediation for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding” Project that requires the services of two individuals to perform the work described in this document.

The objectives of this initiative are to:

1. Enable insider mediation to be a transformative part of the global peacebuilding architecture and an effective component of EU and UN efforts to foster locally led and people-centred initiatives to sustaining peace and integrate insider mediation as a practice more deeply into the peacebuilding architecture, in order to ensure that the work of engaging with insider mediators becomes more mainstreamed and thus has a stronger chance of being sustained.

2. Develop the capacities of 22 insider mediators through specialized training, with particular focus on women and youth on both banks of the Nistru River and increase relevant stakeholders’ knowledge and evidence-based practice of insider mediation to guide the implementation of effective dialogue and inclusive peacebuilding initiatives on both banks of the Nistru River.

3. Strengthen local ownership and leadership in peacebuilding efforts through the integration of insider mediation approaches at the community level on both banks on the Nistru River, as well as increase insider mediators’ access to knowledge, experience sharing and sustained (including peer to peer) networks and are better linked up to international peacebuilding infrastructures, where relevant.
