Chemonics International Inc., a leader in international development and fostering sustainable and inclusive growth worldwide, announces an opening for a Communications Coordinator role within the USAID Moldova Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity (RCRA) project. The goal of RCRA is to stimulate a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the regional crisis brought on by the latest Russian invasion of Ukraine and accelerate an inclusive, climate-resilient economic development of rural Moldova by protecting the development gains made with USAID support over the past decade and further stimulate the competitiveness of key economic sectors, including the wine industry, high-value agriculture, and tourism. 

Moldova RCRA is implemented by USAID contractor Chemonics International Inc. (www.chemonics.com), a U.S.-based international consulting firm providing expertise in developing and emerging-market countries since 1975.

About the role:

As a Communications Coordinator, you will be the one to bring the RCRA project's achievements into the spotlight. Your efforts will enhance our communication, public information, and outreach initiatives, ensuring the world sees the impact of our work. Under the guidance of our Communications and Media Director, you will dive into a variety of tasks - from coordinating events to crafting compelling content across multiple languages and platforms. This role is your chance to be at the forefront of our efforts to promote Moldova's key economic sectors, including the wine industry, high-value agriculture, and tourism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in implementing our communication strategy,
  • Craft engaging content (success stories, case studies, social media posts) in Romanian, Russian, and English,
  • Design and manage visual content to amplify our message,
  • Coordinate the organization of public events,
  • Manage vendors and stakeholder engagements,
  • Foster dynamic and transparent communication with partners, beneficiaries, and the public,
  • Develop various project reports,
  • Navigate media relations and monitoring and keep on the sector trends.

 Who We're Looking For:

  • Individuals with some hands-on experience in communications, journalism, PR, marketing, or a related field. More importantly, those who have a strong desire to expand skills and knowledge in these areas, especially if your experience includes work on international or donor-funded projects.
  • Creatives skilled in content creation, visual communication, and social media engagement.
  • Organized, detail-oriented professionals adept in event planning and project coordination.
  • Team players fluent in Romanian and English, with Russian language skills highly preferred.
