Prosecutorial Vetting Secretariat (ProsVS)

Background: Global Solutions Ventures (GSV), a joint venture partnership between ZemiTek, LLC and Dexis Consulting Group, seeks qualified candidates for an anticipated project vetting Moldovan prosecutors. The project would provide a fully staffed secretariat to support a multi-national Prosecutorial Vetting Commission appointed by the Moldovan Parliament pursuant to Law 252/2023 which entered into force August 22, 2023.

Tasks and Responsibilities: The Translator will undertake the following regular duties as assigned by Secretariat Leadership and will be expected to multitask by handling various tasks simultaneously and adapting to changing priorities:

• Language Translation: Provide between 7 - 10 pages of high-quality and high accuracy written translation per day, working primarily from Romanian to English and vice versa. Some translation from Russian to Romanian or English (or both) may be required as well.  (The per day page totals may be adjusted by Secretariat Leadership based on other assignments or pending workloads.  
• Proofreading and Editing: Reviewing translated texts for errors, grammar, and style to ensure a consistently high quality of documents provided to the Commission.
• Research: Conduct research to clarify unfamiliar terms, phrases, or concepts in either source or resulting language.
• Software and Tools: When approved, use translation software and other tools to aid in expediting the process of document translation, without degradation to quality.
• Meeting Deadlines: Adhere to project timelines and meeting deadlines as set by Secretariat Leadership.
• Communication: Collaborate with team members, Secretariat Leadership and, where directed, with Commission members, to ensure accuracy, understanding and to address issues/concerns as they arise.
• Oral Interpretation: When requested, provide either simultaneous or consecutive translation services to the Secretariat, the Commission, key stakeholders, or a combination of any or all the above.
• Certification:  Maintain, or attain and maintain, certification* through the Ministry of Justice
• All other administrative and/or clerical duties as assigned.

*Note those hired without a current certification will be expected to obtain the certification within 3 months of hiring.  Secretariat Leadership and GSV will assist with this process.

 Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of five (5) years direct professional experience as a translator.
• Fluency in Romanian, English and those with Russian will be given preference.
• Highly organized and detailed oriented, able to work under pressure.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced level expertise with core Microsoft office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• University degree from an accredited institution in a related area of study.
• Ability to pass a NAC background check.

Disqualifying factors:

• Current or past work in the Moldovan prosecution system, in any role.
• Status as a candidate prosecutor.
• Status as a student at the NIJ.

• GSV receipt of three positive professional reference checks (recommendation letters will not be accepted and should not be submitted)
