Background:
People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-governmental organization that provides relief aid and development assistance while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. From 2009 onwards, PIN has added development programmes to its work in Moldova, building a vision and practices that keep people and communities at the center of our work. Throughout its presence in the country, PIN has been contributing to the development of the following sectors: Sustainable Livelihood and Environment, Social Inclusion and Protection, Good Governance.
Position Overview:
Duty Station: Chisinau, with periodical travel to other project destinations throughout Moldova.
The Project Assistant will take part in the implementation of the projects “COMM.Unity Planning - Comprehensive solutions for social services in Moldova” and “PLACE-Providing a multi-sectoral humanitarian response to Ukrainian refugees and vulnerable Moldovan households in Moldova”, funded by the CZDA and ECHO and implemented by PIN Moldova and its partners with the involvement of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and local public authorities. The aim of the Community Planning project is aiming at further developing the mechanism for transparent community planning of social and related services based on demand, real needs and resources available in the community. Also, the project will support the development of Homecare centres as financially sustainable service providers who can offer their services on regular basis.
Furthermore, the Project Assistant sets an example to others through adhering to, and actively promoting PIN’s Code of Conduct and Core Policies (including Safeguarding, Anti-Corruption, Whistleblowing policies) with project partners under his management.
The Project Assistant will work under the supervision and in close coordination with of Project Manager and acts as the main point of contact for project partners and other project stakeholders in Moldova.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all day-to-day programmatic and operational activities of the project, ensure close coordination of project activities with other PIN departments and project stakeholders;
- Drafting project documents including Terms of Reference, official letters, reports, contribution agreements etc;
- Perform regular field visits to assess the situation of the beneficiaries on the ground, monitor field activities and provide guidance to project partners and beneficiaries;
- Contribute to the capacity building program within the projects and support to organize project events, meetings, workshops together with logistic and procurement departments;
- Prepare Acceptance Memoranda on the sub-grants proposals to be funded by PIN;
- In cooperation with Project Manager review narrative reports submitted by grantees;
- ELO - all project specific files/contracts, associated to technical specifications related to the nature of the project activities are under the responsibility of the Project Assistant and FSTP Manager (Preparing Contracts/If needed, Uploading in ELO);
- Keep project documentation (hard copies and on ELO) and work with finance and logistics staff to ensure all project procurements and contracts follow PIN and donor procedures.
Qualification:
- Work experience in humanitarian;
- University degree in social science;
- Human rights or other relevant field;
- Languages: English(required); Romanian/ Russian(desirable);
