WeWorld Moldova is looking for social workers
WeWorld is an Italian organization working since 1971 in international cooperation and humanitarian aid. Italian member of ChildFund Alliance, global network for the defense of children's rights and present in 27 countries.
The outbreak of the war in Ukraine has put millions of people at risk: WeWorld took action immediately to provide aid to refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine to find refuge in Moldova. The main sectors of intervention are child protection, psychosocial support mainly to women and children, distribution of hygiene, food and non-food items, and education in emergency, livelihood and social cohesion.
WeWorld Moldova is looking for social workers (2 positions)
Position title: Social Worker
Duty station: Chișinău (ability to travel in the regions if needed)
Starting date: 01.09.2023
Application closing date: 21.08.2023
Key responsibilities
- Assist migrants and refugees with all the necessary information in order to access relevant specialized care and/or administrative services
- Map and constantly update information on available services and ensure referral pathways are clear
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and civil society organizations and refer cases for further support
- Ensure, communicate, guide and follow up people in need to accessing identified social services
- Monitor the correct use of assistance and provide support to beneficiaries in managing assistance according to their needs
- Participate in the distribution events in Chișinău and in the regions targeted by the project
- Coordinate activities and keep tracking documents about any activity
- Perform any other duties as requested
Education
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, law, or related field
Experience
Previous experience in social work or other related field
Work experience in humanitarian response field is preferred
Language skills
Good level of English and Russian. Romanian or Ukrainian are highly desirable
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Good knowledge of social care system in Moldova as well as humanitarian response structure
- Good level of computer literacy
- Ability to work under pressure and difficult conditions
