Main Purpose:
The Medical Case Management officer will coordinate and supervise the team of Medical Case Workers providing medical case management, mainly through support of referral to specialized health services, to the refugees and host community in Moldova.
He/ She will ensure the quality of assistance provided by the Medical Case Workers according to INTERSOS standards. 

Full time Position. 

Salary: 19k MDL net 

Term: till the 31 December 2023 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, assess and supervise the proper functioning of the medical case management activity, ensuring compliance with international guidelines and INTERSOS standards and SOPs.
• Coordinate and monitor the working plan of the team under his/her responsibility (weekly work plan, fleet movements, absent personnel, vacations, tracking leaves ...). Assess and collect the logistical needs of the team under his/her responsibility and report them to the program staff in charge.
• Oversee the assignment of cases to medical case workers depending on their workload and on the needs. Participate in shifts by replacing a staff if necessary.
• Plan and supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, Medical Activities Manager and Project Manager the associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal communication) to ensure that the team has adequate sizing and the knowledge required.
• Provide individual and group supervision for medical case workers to build their capacity and determine the best way to assist the cases. Provide regular updates to the Medical Activities Manager on the ongoing activities.
• Ensure and oversee that cases with specific specialised needs are referred to the relevant service providers. Report to the Medical Activities Manager any challenges in specific cases.
• Maintain an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area in coordination with the Medical Activities Manager. Ensure that medical case workers are informed about the available services.
• Assist the Medical Activities Manager in setting new referral pathways with specialized heath institutions, based on the needs identified and the overall health strategy.
• Act as a focal point for INTERSOS Medical Case management activity, ensuring coordination with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing.
• Monitor the case management database and M&E tools filled by the medical case workers, providing technical feedback and ensuring the tools are properly used. Verify the documentation provided by partners regarding the services provided to INTERSOS beneficiaries.
• Ensure efficient coordination between different INTERSOS sectors, particularly with the medical team, health promotion team and protection case management team.
• Contribute to organising training events and facilitate and or co-facilitate the training.

Requirements:

• University degree in health or social sciences
• 2 years of relevant experience in social work/health sector/relevant sector
• Native speaker/proficient Romanian and Russian language required
• English language working knowledge required
• Previous experience working for an international NGO is preferable
• Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
• Commitment to INTERSOS principles
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from supervisors in the field
• Reporting skills
• Leadership and people management skills
