Senior Judicial Affairs Officer for The Embassy of Netherlands in Moldova

Senior Judicial Affairs Officer
Description of duties
- Monitoring and analyzing developments in the justice sector, with a special focus on the justice sector reform in Moldova;
- Drawing up policy briefs for the ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, in coordination with the Deputy Head of Mission and the Policy Officer for Political Affairs;
- Contributing to Dutch support in the justice sector, including the support to pre-vetting and vetting.
- Monitoring the implementation of the NL/EU project in support of vetting. Maintaining close relations with Dutch organization CILC that is implementing this project;
- Expanding the network of the Embassy Office CHS, with a special focus on the justice sector reform and rule of law domain;
- (Co-) organization of public diplomacy activities in the mentioned fields;
- Keeping in touch with (and sometimes participating in meetings with) donors, including the EU delegation, bilateral embassies, UN agencies, Worldbank/IMF, etc;
- Supporting incoming missions, including the preparation of the programme and preparing files and speaking notes;
- Managing the social media of the Embassy Office (website, Facebook, Twitter);
- Being part of a close knit team, helping out, executing other diplomatic tasks.
Job requirements
- Relevant university degree;
- At least three years of relevant working experience, preferably in an intercultural context;
- Ample knowledge of the justice sector in Moldova, particularly of the justice sector reforms of the cabinet; ample knowledge of the Eastern-European region; and the functioning of the European union;
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent command of the Russian, Romanian and English language (in word and writing); command of the Dutch language is an asset;
The senior judicial affairs officer is a flexible team-player as well as an independent professional with a political antenna that is well developed, a large network of contacts that are relevant to the justice and rule of law work of the Embassy.
