Background
People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-governmental organization that provides relief aid and development assistance while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. It is one of the largest reliefs and development organizations in post-communist Europe and has administered projects in 37 countries over the past 30 years. From 2009 onwards, PIN has added development programs to its work in Moldova, building a vision and practices that keep people and communities at the canter of our work. Throughout its presence in the country, PIN has been contributing to the development of the following sectors: Sustainable Livelihood and Environment, Social Inclusion and Protection, and Good Governance.
Position Summary:
The Project Officer will take part in the implementation of the project “COMM.Unity Planning - Comprehensive solutions for social services in Moldova”, funded by the CZDA and implemented by PIN Moldova and Homecare, with the involvement of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and local public authorities.
The Project Officer will work under the supervision and in close coordination with of Project Manager and acts as the main point of contact for project partners and other project stakeholders in Moldova.
Main responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Project Manager in achieving the overall objectives and indicators of the project;
- Coordinate all day-to-day programmatic and operational activities of the project, ensure close coordination of project activities with other PIN departments and project stakeholders.
- Perform regular field visits to assess the situation of the beneficiaries on the ground, monitor field activities, and provide guidance to project partners and beneficiaries;
- Liaise with project partners, grantees, and other stakeholders to support the project implementation at various levels;
- Participate in the development of concepts and implementation of various events and activities undertaken by the project;
- Prepare Acceptance Memoranda on the sub-grants proposals to be funded by PIN.
- In cooperation with Project Manager review narrative reports submitted by grantees.
- Keep project documentation (hard copies and on ELO) and work with finance and logistics staff to ensure all project procurements and contracts follow PIN and donor procedures.
- Follow the PIN policies, procedures, and donor requirements in the implementation of all activities.
What we are looking for:
- Higher education;
- Good command of English, Romanian, and Russian, excellent writing skills;
- Competent with most Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- At least 1 year of experience with NGOs, experience in LPA is an advantage.
