Job Description

 

General Identification of the position:

Position: Accountant (Part time)

Area: Finance Department

 

Hierarchy:

Daily Report: Regional Finance and Administrative Director /Regional Team Lead

Functional Report: N/A

 

Job Purpose:

Accounting and reporting to local authorities for the Moldova Office in accordance with the local Legislation

 

Key Activities and responsibilities:

  • Qualitative and timely preparation and submission of all financial, tax and other reports, including reports as NGO organization in accordance with the Moldova Legislation.
  • Maintenance of all areas of accounting and the order of registration of operations and the organization of document circulation by sections of accounting
  • Maintaining bookkeeping and tax accounting in full (including business trips, vehicles and fuel expenses accounting, currency exchange transactions). Control of the availability and correctness of primary documents in accordance with Moldavian Law
  • Payroll (calculation based on timesheet and initial documents, supporting the payroll project with a bank).
  • Constant monitoring and analysis of current accounting and tax legislation and implementation of changes.
  • Interaction with external organizations and regulatory authorities (work with banks, internal and external audit, etc.).

 

Position Profile:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree Accountancy or Finance. Master in related areas is a plus.

Experience: 

  • Experience as chief accountant from 3 years (preferably in NGO);
  • Excellent knowledge of all areas of accounting;
  • Knowledge of tax law, basics of civil law, labor, financial and commercial law;
  • Knowledge of regulatory documents on accounting and tax accounting, including foreign exchange transactions;
  • Knowledge of the legislation of Moldova and IFRS on the procedure of accounting and preparation of financial statements;
  • Experience in passing inspections by regulatory authorities

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Intermediate level in English is required
  • Confident user 1C8 / BAS, Internet-Banking
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks accounting software a plus

 

Soft Skills: 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to humanitarian principles
  • Organized, diplomatic and pro-active approach
  • Adaptability, autonomy, rigor, resilience to stress
