I. Information about the position

Name of position: Project Manager (PM)

Expected length of employment: 11 months (with possibility of extension)

Type of position: Part-time or Full-time

Place of employment: Chisinau, Moldova

Start date: February – March 2022

II. Organizational context

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) is a non-profit organization based in Prague that implements humanitarian aid and development cooperation projects in 15 countries across the world (Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa).

We have been working in Moldova since 2004. Over the years, we implemented 32 development cooperation projects in home and social care, small business development, civil society development, agriculture, lively hoods support and inclusion areas. In 2017, we were registered in Moldova through our exclusive partner - AO Pro-Development - and started implementing projects directly through a local team.

Our strategic objectives are focused on the following priority intervention sectors: civil society development, inclusive social development, primary healthcare support, innovation and waste/water management.

Presently, we also implement humanitarian aid projects supporting refugees from Ukraine residing in Moldova.

III. Responsibilities

Under guidance and direct supervision of the Head of Programs, the PM will manage a project management team and will have the following responsibilities:

• responsible for the overall management of the project (planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting);
• coordination with the local stakeholders and other actors related to project implementation;
• coordination of the project team, experts, preparation, and conclusion of contracts;
• responsible for following all donors and internal guidelines and procedures;
• ensuring project visibility together with the Communication Department;
• ensuring constant share of information with the MEAL Department
• carry out sub-deliveries´ management;
• identify problems that arise during the project implementation and prepare appropriate remedies;
• ensure transparent and structured keeping of project documents (internal reports, contracts, materials produced by the project, sources of indicators verification etc.) in line with given guidelines.
• support the mission team in identifying local/national needs in areas relevant to the work of CCR in Moldova and contribute to project proposal writing

IV. Requirements

Minimum

• University degree
• Experience in project management of at least 3 years. 
• Experience in project proposal writing and reporting to institutional donors. 
• Proven experience in managing teams
• Computer literacy, including knowledge of and experience with word processors (MS Word), spreadsheets (Excel), and electronic mail
• Good organizational skills and ability to analyse information
• Motivation, creativity and ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a diverse team, manage stressful situations and achieve results

Desired

• Written and spoken proficiency in English
