The U.S. Embassy is hiring an Administrative Assistant (INL Internal Operations Coordinator)

Duties
Serves as internal operations coordinator for the Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Section (INL) and management assistant to the INL Director. Manages the office’s routine workflow and serves as Section’s initial contact. Coordinates and executes internal office functions, ensures that work is delegated appropriately, and programs are closed out by program managers. Assists with travel arrangements and training logistics. Serves as INL lead on Leahy Vetting for participants. Plans all section events, including offsites and team building. Assists and backs up other Section staff internally in planning, executing, and implementing INL assistance programs as needed/directed. Monitors the status of INL procurement requests.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible experience in administration, business, secretarial/clerical, or equivalent work is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Thorough knowledge of organizational management and teamwork.
- Thorough knowledge of general office management systems and practices
- Thorough knowledge of the organization of key legal and law enforcement institutions including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, the judiciary and courts, and the Prosecutor General's Office.
- Thorough knowledge of the host country's political structure and institutions and the host country’s key law enforcement and political figures.
Education Requirements:
- Completion of two years of college or university studies are required.
LANGUAGE: Level III (good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English, Romanian and Russian is required. (This may be tested.)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Excellent organizational, management, and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to “manage up” and direct others as needed – in a non-supervisory role – to ensure that work is completed, in a timely manner.
2. Ability to work effectively with section and Embassy colleagues in a professional, proactive manner. Ability to develop and maintain mid-level contacts in governmental, legal, educational and law enforcement circles, and the justice community within the host country. Ability to work independently and to plan, arrange, organize and execute criminal justice and law enforcement training and assistance programs.
3. Must have excellent computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database management skills. Ability to work in an internal office setting for the majority of the workday is also required.
