Broadcast/IT Equipment Expert

Expected Level of Effort: 18 days (with possibility of extension)

Expected Period of Performance: September - October 2022

Scope of Work (SOW)

Objective:

The Broadcast/IT Equipment Expert will provide advice and guidance on broadcast and IT equipment selection, configuration, purchasing, installation, and training on its use to MRI management and its grantees.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

The consultant is requested to provide the following services:

• Conduct site visit(s)/assessment(s) of specific MRI partner location(s) in order to determine the broadcast and IT equipment configuration needs
• Identify the required broadcast and IT equipment for specific MRI partner(s), including establishing a final equipment list
• Conduct market research on potential vendors for the  identified equipment according to MRI’s and donor’s procurement regulations
• Support the receiving and the delivery of the equipment at MRI or partner locations
• Upon request, support the installation of the delivered equipment at MRI or at the partner’s locations
• Upon request, provide in-person training to MRI partner(s) on how to use the delivered equipment
• Conduct site visit(s)/assessment(s) to the MRI partner(s) to confirm proper use of the delivered equipment

Deliverables:

The consultant may be requested to provide the following deliverables:

• Finalized equipment lists for specific activities/beneficiaries, as requested
• Simplified training guide(s) for use of the delivered equipment

Reporting:

The Broadcast/IT Expert will report to the MRI Operations Manager or designee.  

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Proven working experience as an Broadcast/IT Manager or similar relevant experience for at least five years
• In-depth knowledge of the latest broadcast technologies especially in the fields of production and post production 
• Hands-on experience on designing and installing broadcast equipment on all levels, from low end to high end
• Desirable knowledge on  computer networks, network administration and network installation
• Proven high ethical standards
• BS in Broadcast engineering, MIS, or similar fields or equivalent experience
