Main mission:
To map and constantly update information on available services and ensure referral pathways are clear and working including counterferral
To ensure, communicate, guide and follow up people in need to accessing identified social services
To promote community engagement around the common interests and issues
Main activities
- Mapping social services (health, social protection, …)
- Draft and keep an effective referral database for different needs and support
- Implementing awareness/education/prevention activities on specific topics
- Developing and maintaining community engagement.
- Supporting the creation of informal groups/structures. Facilitating community meetings and discussion groups
- Supporting and advising community actors in the activities
- Contributing towards identifying potential community relays and actions of interest
- Building and maintaining relationships with the community. Initiating contacts, identifying key players
- Possible mediation with the various bodies and parties involved, both in the public sector and elsewhere
- Contributing to community involvement in the design of programmes and activities
- Contributing to the evaluation of the impact of the activities on the community, improving knowledge, changing practices
- Gathering information, participating in the study of needs and stakeholder analyses. Conducting field studies
- Participating in the management of minor supplies and equipment needed for activities
Main skills:
- Capacity to understand potential barriers and drivers to access existing social services.
- Good communication skills and public speaking skills.
- Ability to adapt behaviour to the target audience.
- Understand the target audience (value systems, codes and practices, medical and medico-social issues, socio-economic and health environment), know how to understand a cultural context, create a bond of trust and how to incorporate that into the action
- Ability to work with people with different cultural backgrounds,
- Understand methods and tools to develop leadership, promote empowerment and strengthen the capacity of a community
- Build relationships, negotiate, develop, and maintain networks
- Communicate information, know how to judge what information to share with whom
- Assess the impact of actions and adjust them accordingly
- Being from the target community is considered an advantage for the job
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Be flexible and adaptable; understand and accept changes in the environment regarding people, tasks, work decisions, policies, etc.
- Speak Ukrainian ( or Russian and/or Romanian)
