Technical Focus

Field GIS, remote sensing and cartography;

 Tasks and responsibilities

 General:

• The coordinator will have the overall responsibility for the technical implementation and timely performance of Collect Earth survey;
• An active participation on the evaluation of CE survey and on the interpretation of results is require
• Preparation and performance of Collect Earth (CE) survey
• In collaboration with the International DB/IT consultant establishes necessary technical infrastructure for Collect Earth (CE) Interpretation
• In collaboration with the International Remote Sensing Consultant prepares the CE survey structure and adjusts the CE application;
• Supervises the team of three CE operators and assures quality of the CE interpretation by regular checks;
• Designs and implements measures to assure high quality of data acquired by Collect Earth;
• Draws up interpretation manual for the CE survey;
• Compiles and updates documentation on technological solutions in the area of his expertise

 Evaluation of the CE survey and interpretation of survey results

• Collaborates with International Consultant for Forest Monitoring and with The National Expert on Forestry Statistics on the evaluation and interpretation of Collect Earth survey results (estimates of current status of land use and land cover as well as changes in last ten years);

 Up to the indicated number of man days performs tasks assigned by the NPC (National Project Coordinator) and the International Consultant for Forest Monitoring.

 CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

 Minimum Requirements

• University degree in forestry, geomatics, geography, cartography, land surveying or equivalent (MSc. degree or equivalent);
• At least 5 years of experience in the field GIS, remote sensing or cartography;
• Working knowledge of English and Russian is mandatory
