PROGRAM BACKGROUND
Handicap International “HI” (operating as Humanity & Inclusion) is an independent and impartial international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights.
HI is currently opening a multi-sectoral life-saving assistance to displaced and non-displaced populations in Ukraine such as : Protection, shelter, health, NFIs, food security and livelihoods, water, sanitation, hygiene, and education and strengthening and supporting access to mental health and psychosocial support; provision of basic and domestic items including food, unrestricted cash assistance, and core relief items.

General Mission
Under the Human Resources Manager’s supervision and as part of the support unit, the translator’s main role will be to translate and/or to review translated documents, and to provide oral translation upon request (English- Russian-Rumania and Ukrainian and vice versa). The translator will thus contribute indirectly to the development and implementation of the mission’s activities. He or she will work in close collaboration with the mission’s staff members to ensure that the domain specific technical vocabulary is applied appropriately.
Missions/Responsibilities
- Mission 1: Oral translation
The translator will be asked to provide oral translation on occasion (English-Rumanian, Ukrainian/Russian and vice versa) whenever needed: i.e. during meetings, external visits with partners, in support of other departments.
- Mission 2: Translation of documents
The translator will be asked to translate specific documents with high accuracy using the correct technical terminology.
The documents when translated, should maintain the layout and formatting of the original documents, unless instructed otherwise by the requester.
Mission 3: Documents review
- The translator will be asked to review documents that have been translated to improve the quality of the translations.

Salary: 10 000 MDL - 15 000 MDL
Duration of Contract: 2 months with possibility of renewal
