The trainings and workshops within the Socio-economic development strategic plans for beneficiary municipalities under the Visegrad Fund supported project Introducing EU standards in Moldova: towards a new model of cooperation and planning, took place on 11th of April, in Leova Municipality.
The training and workshop was organized by national experts in a participatory approach, involving community in decision making issues. Participatory approaches are based on shared ownership of decision-making. This approach is a response to ‘top-down’ approaches to development, in which power and decision-making is largely in the hands of external development professionals.
The training module was on the issues of sustainable development and social capital in the community. The scope of the workshop was to identify the perception of people regarding the prohibitions and barriers that stops the development of the community.
The Visegrad approach on community strategic planning was a guideline for facilitators of the workshop.
