From February 1 to 17, America House Chisinau invites school students aged 14 - 18 to participate in the essay contest: African American Voices! 

Participants are encouraged to research and learn about living African Americans who made an impact in different fields such as law, engineering, health, art, journalism, music, sports, politics etc. and explore how they are using their expertise and influence to advocate for social issues or address systemic problems. 

Inspired by the leadership and activism of living African American figures, essays should depict the contributions of one or several African American figures in implementing innovative solutions, policy reforms, and campaigns to advance progress towards a more prosperous, equitable, and inclusive society.

Criteria:

• You could choose one or several African American figures
• The African American figure(s)  has/have to be alive
• The essay should contain no more than 600 words 
• The content should be original, no plagiarism allowed, including the use of Chat GPT!

Please send your essay in PDF format to americahousemd@gmail.com. In the email, let us know your Name/Surname, Institution and which grade are you in! In the title of the email, please indicate Essay Contest: African American Voices 

Three winners will be announced on February 24 and awarded prizes.
