DVV International is the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (Deutscher Volkshochschul-Verband e.V., DVV). DVV represents the interests of the approximately 850 adult education centres (Volkshochschulen, VHS) and their state associations, the largest further education providers in Germany. As the leading professional organisation in the field of adult learning & education (ALE) and development cooperation, DVV International has committed itself to promote the right for lifelong learning worldwide and has been implementing country programmes of development cooperation in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe for more than 50 years. DVV International strengthens national ALE-systems in partner countries and provides support for the establishment and development of sustainable structures for youth and adult education. The project work approach of DVV International targets improved conditions in policy, legislation and financing (macro level) as well as promotion of professionalisation in practice and theory of ALE (meso level) and requires cooperation both with government institutions such as ministries and city administrations as well as with civil society organisations, universities, and other educational providers. By supporting our partners (usually, adult education centres), in developing and piloting exemplary concrete learning offers (micro level), especially for disadvantaged population groups, we create best practice and evidence of the benefit of ALE. DVV International finances its work through funds from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Foreign Office, the European Union, etc.

For the current project work, DVV International Moldova is announcing a vacancy for the full-time position of the Project coordinator (100%). The position will be based in Chisinau, and work closely with the supervisors and the team towards achieving the goals of the organisation, ensuring timely and quality preparation, implementation, monitoring and reporting of assigned project activities.

Major responsibilities and duties:

• Planning, coordinating, and monitoring of project activities in the field of non-formal learning;
• Achievement of milestones, ensuring compliance with the implementation plan, project budget, corporate and donor guidelines for management and financial procedures;
• Contribute to reporting of organisation within the set deadlines, including half-year, annual and project final reports;
• Contribute to the visibility of the project work by composing news articles and short reports on project events;
• Other similar duties connected to the successful implementation of the project.

 Qualification requirements:

•  University degree;
• At least 3 years of work experience;
• Working experience in the development cooperation sector, non-governmental organisation or education field would be considered as an asset;
• Solid competence in project cycle management;
• Experience with implementation of capacity building programmes would be a strong asset;
• Fluency in English language;
• Knowledge of Russian and/or German languages are desirable;
• Proven competence in public relation and SMM would be a strong asset;
• Proficient competence in using the Microsoft office applications and other relevant computer and IT-skills;
• Readiness to travel within the country and abroad.
