About Us
The American Language Center (ALC), a key part of the American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS, has been a cornerstone in Moldova’s foreign language education since 1998. Ranked among the top five foreign language schools in Moldova, ALC is one of the few private institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education. While specializing in English, we also offer Russian, Romanian, and Ukrainian courses. We combine a student-centered, innovative classroom philosophy with a distinctly American cultural spirit, collaborating regularly with Americans in Moldova for various study abroad and exchange programs.
Our courses are offered both online and in-person, catering mainly to teenagers and adults eager to enhance their communication skills in English. With over 35,000 graduates, we deliver a General English Course and preparation courses for international exams like TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, and Cambridge. The ALC teaching approach is distinguished by its learner-centered methodology, small class sizes, immersive English-only practice (even for beginners), and an interactive, communicative teaching style.
Position: English Language Teacher (Full-time or Part-time, In-person or Remote)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
- Assess student progress in both online and in-person settings
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development (workshops, meetings, peer-reviews)
- Adhere to all policies and protocols of the school
- Engage with students before and after semesters
- Submit reports and necessary documentation on time
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience teaching English to both adults and teenagers, online and offline
- Strong command of instructional methodologies, including multimedia and technology use
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in computer use and multimedia for instructional purposes
- Ability to tailor instruction to address varied learning needs
