Come to the English Conversation Club on October 18 to practice your English skills while having meaningful conversations with native speakers! This time, our guest speaker - Daina S. Eglitis - Associate Professor of Sociology & International Affairs, will speak about Hiking America's Longest Trail: 14 States and 3500 kilometers!
The Appalachian Trail is America’s longest hiking trail. It crosses valleys, roads, rocks, and streams across 14 U.S. states. What is it like to hike this trail? What are the joys, and what are the challenges? For this meeting of the English Conversation Club, we will interview Joe Burke, an American working in Chisinau, about his experiences as a long-time hiker on the trail. We will also consider what draws Americans and Moldovans to nature and how they like to spend their time in nature.
