Seventy-five years ago, on May 27, 1942, the Czech parachutists Jan Kubiลก and Josef Gabฤรญk assassinated SS-Obergruppenfรผhrer Reinhard Heydrich. They killed not only the hated oppressor of the Czekind history, the architect of the holocaust. This event, one of the most memorable in Czech history, also confirmed the approval that was given to both national and foreign representatives of the Zionist movement throughout interwar Czechoslovakia.
Heydrichโs assassination turned the wheel of history marching on Prague Castle pavement. On October 29, 1941, Heydrich and Himmler were marching in front of an honorary SS unit and planning the โfinal solution of the Jewish questionโ. The inauguration audience of the first Israeli ambassador, Ehud Avriel was carried out at the same place of Prague Castle on July 28, 1948.
