Dear book lovers, on Saturday, November 26, at 4.30 PM, America House Chisinau invites you to the monthly book club meeting.
This month we will discover ”Nineteen Eighty-Four a novel by George Orwell.
George Orwell’s masterpiece is the novel at the origin of the famous figure of “Big Brother”. Inspired by totalitarian regimes, Orwell describes a caricatural, fictional, futuristic world in which he anticipates the horror that our world can undergo under censorship and mass surveillance.
Nevertheless, Orwell also provides the four pillars to prevent Big Brother’s dictatorship: freedom, vocabulary richness, independent thinking, memory, and fraternity
