GIZ - Office Manager

GIZ is looking for an Office Manager for its projects “Promoting Green Deal Readiness in the Eastern Partnership Countries” (PROGRESS), inclusive “EU4CR” project and “Strengthening sustainable and digital trade routes and logistics concepts between Eastern Partnership countries and with the EU”, which are financed by the German Government.

This full-time position is expected to start on 15 August 2026. The permanent workplace for this position is in Chisinau.

The core responsibilities of the Office Manager include various aspects of office management including internal and external communications, general project-internal administration and logistics, event management, as well as other duties and tasks upon the request of the management.

The main tasks of the Office Manager are as follows:

  • Specified commercial, organizational and administrative activities;
  • Managing written enquiries of the PROGRESS, EU4ClimateResilience and EasTnT project managers regarding day-to-day business activities and office operations;
  • Maintaining appropriate internal and external communication;
  • Acknowledging and regular update on GIZ rules and regulations in the areas of responsibilities (small procurements, office presence evidence etc.) and provision of feedback on requests/questions to the projects’ staff members;
  • Provision of information on compliance rules and processes in the area of competence (incl. act as a Focal Point for Compliance).

Required qualifications:

  • university degree (Bachelor‘s or Master’s) in a relevant subject (e. g. social science, economics, etc.)
  • at least 2 years of professional experience in a comparable position
  • working experience with international development cooperation represents an advantage
  • preparedness and flexibility for frequent business travel to rural areas
  • excellent communication skills
  • very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (e-mail, MS teams) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • very good (academic) skills in writing and speaking in Romanian language, fluent English skills in writing and speaking; knowledge of German is of advantage
  • willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
  • driving licence, cat B is an advantage
  • Moldovan citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Moldova.
