
The German Development Cooperation (GIZ) is looking for a Junior Specialist in Communication and Visibility to join the “Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova” Project team. This project is financed by the German Government as well as the Swiss Government.
This position is planned to start on 15 March 2026 and last until 31 December 2026.
The primary role of the Junior Specialist in Communication and Visibility is to support the project team in the field of communication and visibility, including events’ organisation.
The permanent workplace for this position is in Chisinau.
The overall responsibilities covered by this position are as follows:
- Supporting the project team with all matters around communication and visibility, including the organisation of events.
- Communication planning and management: Implementing the project's communication and visibility strategy. Increase the visibility and outreach of the project through social media.
- External communication management: Coordinating and managing collaboration with external communication service providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and adherence to project objectives, while integrating the voices and perspectives of Moldovan citizens.
- Quality assurance of communication outputs: Ensuring the quality and consistency of communication products and outputs. Create and edit PR related information for various platforms, ensuring alignment with the project’s and organisation’s goals.
- Event coordination: Managing events and coordinating communication activities to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Graphic design and visual development: Developing visuals, infographics, layouts, and branding materials to strengthen the project’s communication identity and ensure professional, coherent, and engaging presentation across all platforms.
- Performing any other work-related tasks contributing to the project success.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in humanitarian sciences, public relations or equivalent professional work experience in the communication / PR areas.
- At least one-year general work experience in communication and visibility, preferably within the international development community; internships and trainee programmes are considered as work experience as well.
- High level of sensitivity, eloquence and a confident manner communicating in a political context.
- Excellent knowledge of written and verbal English, Romanian and Russian.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities and to effectively manage relationships with media representatives, government officials and other GIZ partners.
- Mature initiative, tact and high sense of responsibility.
- Be able to work autonomously and on own initiative while reporting regularly to the line manager and the senior communication specialists in the team and GIZ Moldova.
- Be a team player, supportive of colleagues and able to ask for support when required.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organisation and the donor landscape in Moldova.
- Excellent planner and implementer, capable of withstanding pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Internet and other).
- Knowledgeable PR competencies in event communication, public speaking and moderation.
- Strong programming skills, graphic design, and photo editing skills in the field of layout software.
- Willing and able to travel inside the country for event support, when needed.
- Moldovan citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Moldova.
