Project 220009: Improving the standards compliance through increased national capacities for residue monitoring
The overall objective of this Action is to enhance national consumer safety and access to safe, healthy, and nutritious food and to improve trade opportunities and create a conducive business envsironment for SMEs, thus contributing to resilient, sustainable, and inclusive economic development as well as paving the way to a fully-fledged Green Deal for the Republic of Moldova.
The specific objective of the Action is to increase national capacities for residue monitoring in animal feed and products of animal origin (pesticides, veterinary medicine, contaminants, and prohibited substances).
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The National Laboratory Expert (Non-food sector) works under the overall guidance and supervision of the Project Manager and in close consultations with International Laboratory Experts and with the Project Team. The National Laboratory Expert (Non-food sector) reports directly to the Project Manager for all administrative issues.
Support the development of comprehensive laboratory infrastructure analysis (both public and private laboratories across priority sectors (e.g. construction, electrical, textiles, plastics, cosmetics) to ensure the provision of needs-based services by preparing draft inputs to inception, progress and several interim reports;
Contribute to the development of the 1st draft of a strategic roadmap for the sustainable laboratory infrastructure development in the Republic of Moldova;
Provide data and inputs to support the development strategy, investment plan and marketing strategy for public and private laboratories to ensure sustainability through the provision of needs-based;
Contingency;
Prepare and submit for approval to the PM a final report.
MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education: Advanced university degree in Science, Engineering, Material Science or other relevant disciplines, is required.
Technical and Functional Experience:
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken Romanian is required. Fluency and/or working knowledge of English is required Fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language, particularly Russian, is desirable.
