About Us
International Media Support (IMS) is implementing the Moldova Media Information Integrity and Democracy Programme (M-MIIND), dedicated to building societal resilience against disinformation through independent, fact-based, and inclusive media. As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Gender and Media Expert to develop a concise and practical Gender Blueprint that addresses systemic barriers to gender equality in Moldovan media.
About the Role
The Gender Blueprint will serve as a strategic guide for integrating gender equity into media policies and practices, enhancing the M-MIIND programme’s impact on the media ecosystem in Moldova. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful change by ensuring fair representation and tackling gender biases within the Moldovan media landscape.
Key Responsibilities
As the Gender and Media Expert, you will:
- Analyze gender portrayals and systemic barriers in Moldovan media.
- Map existing gender equity initiatives, identifying gaps and opportunities.
- Develop actionable recommendations and practical tools to foster gender-sensitive practices in the media.
- Collaborate with IMS staff and local stakeholders to ensure the Blueprint reflects on-the-ground realities.
- Prepare and deliver a Gender Blueprint document, including a problem outline, current efforts, recommendations, and an integration framework.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for candidates with:
- Advanced expertise in gender equity, media analysis, or a related field.
- Proven experience in gender-sensitive project design, particularly in Eastern Europe.
- Strong understanding of Moldova’s media landscape and sociocultural context.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a track record of producing practical and concise reports.
- Fluency in English and Romanian (required).
