The Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova is seeking a qualified individual for the position of an economic assistant. Please see the description of the vacancy below:

- Local assistant for economic affairs and economic cooperation
2. Main responsibilities
- gathering economic information from various sources, analyzing and reporting on economic issues and economic cooperation
- establishing and maintaining contacts with stakeholders in public and private sectors
- organizing meetings and events in the area of economic cooperation
- supporting the implementation of development projects and programs
- translating relevant documents and interpreting for the Japanese diplomats in English/ Romanian/ Russian
3. Qualifications and requirements
- citizenship of the Republic of Moldova
- bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, finance, business, social science, public administration, or international relations
- good knowledge of Moldova’s economic and financial developments and trends, understanding of Moldova’s political and social structures
- fluency in English, Romanian and Russian (to be tested)
- previous work experience in a similar position would be an advantage
4. Terms and conditions
- starting date of work: February 2024 (upon consultation)
- working hours: 9:00 am – 5:45 pm, Monday through Friday
- observance of the Moldovan and some Japanese public holidays
- the gross monthly remuneration starts at 900 USD.
