Financial Controller - IM Swedish Development Partner (imsweden.org)

Right now, we are looking for a Financial Controller for our Eastern Europe team in Moldova, covering the operations in Moldova and Ukraine. The position is a temporary replacement (maternity leave) for one year with a possible extension to a maximum of 2 years.

Description

IM works in Moldova and Ukraine to support local civil society organisations in their work to promote human rights, equality and a democratic civic space. Your role

• Systematically analyse whether strategic objectives are met in a cost-effective way, and change priorities accordingly.
• Promote a sound, efficient and effective financial management and control.
  • Stay updated on tax laws; legal provisions and anti-corruption.
  • Responsible for assessment of partners’ financial capacity.
  • Actively participate in global organizational processes for sharing, learning, feedback and improvement of our operations.
  •Manage and administrate payment of salaries including reporting to authorities (employer contributions and pension contributions).
• Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable, daily accounting, reconciliation of balance sheet, daily payments and reporting to tax authorities.

Your profile

You are…

• Solutions oriented, stress tolerant and cooperative.

You have…

• Academic education or equivalent experience within this area.

• Intermediate experience within development cooperation.
• An innovative mind.
• Intermediate experience from the non-profit/civil society organisations sector.
• Intermediate understanding how to use IT equipment (Excel, word, powerpoint, business world, etc.)
• Romanian: fluent, CEFR, level C2
• Russian: fluent, CEFR level C2
• English: intermediate, CEFR level B1, both oral and written
• Driving License

Other information

The office is located in Chisinau. We are very positive to remote work, but there are occasions every week where we need to see you in person in the office.

Length of contract: The employment is a temporary position during maternity leave, for one year with a possible extension to a maximum of 2 years.

Start date: 15th of January 2024

The successful candidate has to fulfill legal requirements for working in the Republic of Moldova at the time of the application.
