Background:

People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-governmental organization that provides relief aid and development assistance while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. It is one of the largest reliefs and development organizations in post-communist Europe and has administered projects in 37 countries over the past 30 years. From 2009 onwards, PIN has added development programmes to its work in Moldova, building a vision and practices that keep people and communities at the centre of our work. Throughout its presence in the country, PIN has been contributing to the development of following sectors: Sustainable Livelihood and Environment, Social Inclusion and Protection, Good Governance.

Position Overview: 

Logistic Support/Driver is based in Chisinau with travels into the regional offices. The Logistic Support/Driver will act as a support team member to arrange smooth fleet/movement operation, base, and regional office management, and also will be conducting trips in the field and project sites as per the schedule.

The Logistic Support/Driver position primarily focuses on logistics assistance (60%) and includes supporting procurement, fleet operation, base management, regional office administration, vehicle tracking, and maintenance (repairs, seasonal operations, and purchases). The driver’s responsibilities (40%) involve adhering to transport policies, driving safely, maintaining the vehicle's condition, following road regulations, and ensuring passengers' safety.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Logistic responsibilities (60 %):

• Employee will be responsible for regular regional office check-ups and administration and will support regional office functioning.
• Employee will monitor the full operation of office and kitchen equipment, coordinates its servicing and maintenance and ensure order and cleanliness of all PIN's premises;
• Employee will be collecting, checking and submission for payment of invoices related to taxi, transportation and telecommunication services, utilities and fuel;
• Employee will support LO in keeping the inventory records of PIN´s assets and their archiving in ELO;
• Employee will keep records (electronically) of incoming/outcoming correspondence and distributes incoming correspondence between individual departments;

Driver responsibilities (40 %):

• Responsible for tracking PIN fleet vehicles condition, will perform regular maintenance and repairs, seasonal operations, and insurance/state technical inspections;
• Responsible to ensure the vehicle is road worthy and there is sufficient fuel for the trips assigned;
• Ensure that the assigned vehicle contains: the Logbook, Discharge of Liabilities, complete 1st Aid kit, and defined tools (jack, straps, ropes, etc.);
• Correctly complete and update the Logbook (mileage, petrol receipts, services, repairs, accidents, other incidents, etc.) and disclaimers;

Qualification:

• Proven experience in an administrative or logistics environment
• Valid driving license,
• Minimum of 5 years of driving experience (date from first obtaining a driving license),
• Language: Romanian and/or Russian (fluently read, write, speak) with basic English;
