Terre des hommes is looking for a proactive, energetic, and organised Logistics Assistant to join its team in Chisinau, to support in the implementation of its projects.

BACKGROUND

Terre des hommes is active in Moldova since 2004. Registered as a local Foundation, Tdh Moldova works to reduce vulnerability and strengthen the protection of children affected by migration; to strengthen children’s access to their rights in the juvenile justice system by promoting a restorative approach; and to build the protection and prevention capacity of child protection institutions and professionals, as well as individuals with rights, such as children, families and communities. We work to ensure that all children in Moldova benefit from a system that can guarantee their survival, protection, development and participation, with a specific focus on the most vulnerable children.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The purpose and role of the Logistics Assistant is to provide logistics. More specifically, the Logistics Assistant is responsible for the procurement of requested goods or services, the supply and tracking of equipment and accessories, stock management, and generally technical support and supply in all Tdh working spaces in region. S/he will be working under the direct supervision of the Logistics Manager in Chisinau.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the procurement of goods with the support of the Logistics Manager
• Collect and record offers and Quotations, prepare any relevant files for the procurement needs in Tdh projects
• Ensure Tdh procurement procedures are followed for each purchase handled
• Ensure the relevant trackers are updated
• Perform driving tests for Tdh Moldova’s team members
• Ensure correct filling of logbook and refueling Tdh car
• Drive team members to the sites if/when needed
• Identify and report needs for mechanical maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
• Identify and report damages to the exterior of the vehicle of the assigned vehicle.
• Carry out regular checks to the vehicles in compliance to Tdh fleet management policy

• Management of the Equipment
  • Ensure the setting up and the maintenance of the equipment.
  • Monitor the additional equipment required and advise on the purchase
  • Identification, registration in the equipment follow up and labeling of all the equipment.
  • Ensure the monitoring tools, are updated

• Management of premises
• Ensure adequate and required equipment/furniture are in place and functioning
• Ensure follow up and supply of office supplies
• Ensure to notify in advance for any maintenance and repairs needs

• Stock Management
• Ensure the flow of entries and releases is organized according to the needs.
• Update and share the monthly stock inventory.
• Support with distribution of goods to beneficiaries when/if needed

• Security Management
• Adhere strictly to Tdh and country security rules
• Participate in the elaboration and updating of the country security plan and guidelines

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

• Education/ Qualification

o   Relevant academic background

o   Degree in Mechanics or Logistics fields will be considered as an asset

o   Certified driving skills (Valid driving license)

o   Knowledge of maintenance routines of vehicles

o   Strong organizational, planning, prioritizing and administrative skills

o   Ability to work collaboratively and productively within a multidiscipline and multicultural environment

• Experience

o   Previous experience with an NGO is desirable.

o   Tdh previous experience will be taken into consideration.

• Languages

o   Very good oral and written skills in Romanian, Russian and English

• IT Knowledges

o   Good knowledge of IT (hardware and software, Microsoft Office, Internet)
