Internews in Moldova is looking for a consultant (national or international) to train and consult the leading investigative journalism groups in Moldova in developing more engaging and visual story presentations for various audiences, as well as in packaging and promoting investigations for/across various platforms (including social media). The selected consultant will conduct a two-day training for editors and reporters from investigative groups (as designated by the management at each outlet), then spend three days individually with each of the three outlets and provide follow-up remote mentoring to the outlets afterward.

Background information

In 2017, Internews was awarded the USAID-funded project “Media Enabling Democracy, Inclusion and Accountability in Moldova” (MEDIA-M), which aims to promote the development of an independent, professional media, and to create a media sector that is more resilient to political and financial pressures.  As part of its activities under this project, Media-M aims to provide a tailored support for more innovative investigative story production and presentation.

Expected deliverables:

  • A two-day training for investigative journalism groups’ representatives in investigative content presentation and promotion
  • Up to 9 days of in-house consultations and long distance for previously trained media outlets
  • Individual recommendations and implementation steps for each of the consulted media outlet

The period of implementation will be discussed with the selected consultant.

Application Process and deadline

All interested media experts are invited to submit:

  1. An updated CV, including at least 2 reference with contact details.
  2. The two-day training agenda concept (topics to be covered and proposed training methods). The detailed and final agenda will be agreed after the selection and contract signing.
