Business Development Manager

The German Development Cooperation through GIZ is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) within its project “Economic Policy Advice to the Moldovan Government “.

The BDM will support the Project Manager and project team on the day-to-day activities implementation.

The main responsibilities shall include:

  • Investment and business generation within the priority sectors agreed with Component Manager, based on Government strategies in place and on the background/ experience and interests of the BDM;
  • Supporting and reinforcing the activities of the Component Manager in the area of promotion of job-generating investments from the priority sectors agreed with Component Manager;
  • Generating new foreign and local investments, focused on the sector agreed with Component Manager;
  • Securing and promoting existing investments;
  • Generating a positive image of the Republic of Moldova as attractive investment location in cooperation with partner counterpart and different stakeholders;
  • Supporting the representation of the Republic of Moldova at International Events or Conferences;
  • Coordinating with the Component Manager and partners external events related to the investment attraction;
  • Facilitating discussions and activities towards improving the overall business climate;
  • Analyzing and developing solutions in order to support companies with problem solving processes.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor and/or Masters in Economics, International Relations, Industrial Engineering or other areas relevant for the implementation of described tasks;
  • At least 4 years’ professional experience in a consulting company, or relevant industry experience in private sector, public institution, international development organization or business association, or in a comparable and relevant position;
  • Experience in the field of Investment attraction is an advantage. Experience in the field of marketing or sales would be an asset;
  • Work experience in both, Moldovan and foreign companies is a plus;
  • Availability of a developed professional network within relevant government and industry stakeholders would be highly appreciated;
  • Fluency in Romanian, Russian and English is a must; knowledge of German, French, Russian, Italian or Spanish would be an asset;
  • Strong IT skills, analytical and report writing skills.

Applicants have to be citizens of the Republic of Moldova, residing inside the country for a period of over 6 months before the date of application.
