Grants Internship - Moldova Competitiveness Project financed by USAID and the Swedish Government

Background
The Moldova Competitiveness Project, funded by USAID and the Swedish Government and implemented by Chemonics International, Inc. aims to grow and expand key economic sectors in Moldova. The Project utilizes the Sector Engagement, Enhancement, and Development (SEED) grants fund to enhance local capacity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and competitiveness, among actors in the targeted industries – wine, tourism, Information Communication Technology (ICT), and light (fashion) industry.

The Project seeks a Grants Intern for a period of 2-3 months to support the SEED Fund team with the design, solicitation, award, and implementation of the SEED Fund. The Grants Intern will support the team with documentation preparation in English and Romanian, filing in physical and digital formats, gathering required documentation, and will coordinate with various grantees on a wide range of topics, among other duties. The Grants Intern has to be available at a minimum 3 days a week full-time. This is an unpaid internship but the Project may consider covering transportation costs.

Illustrative responsibilities:
• Support the SEED Fund team in the management of grants program in line with USAID rules and regulations from design through conclusion of activities;
• Assist the SEED Fund with the process of preparing agreement/documents/risk assessments in English and/or Romanian, gathering required documentation, checking references, conducting filing and coordinating with grantees on a wide range of topics.
• Other responsibilities as delegated by the SEED Fund Director and the Grants Manager.

Qualifications
• Students pursuing bachelor or master degrees in public administration, business administration, law, international relations, communications, and other related fields or recent graduates in the referenced fields.
• Superior attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and work on several activities simultaneously.
• Excellent English and Romanian written and oral proficiency.
• Excellent inter-personal communication and mediation skills; team-player.
• Availability 3 days a week full time for a period of 2-3 months.
