The first Regional European Alcohol Policy Youth Conference in Chisinau, Moldova



In period between the 16th and 22nd December 2013 in Chisinau, Moldova, was the first Regional European Alcohol Policy Youth Conference (REAPYC).

REAPYC is a youthconference, first tim organised in Moldova that gather around 50 young people from Moldova: MediaPoint, Uniunea Juriștilor din Moldova, USPEE C.Stere, Centrul de Sănătate Prietenos Tinerilor "Neovita",  Romania: Business Days -@ Palas,  Slovenia: Alcohol Policy Youth Network,  Belarus: Green Aliance of Belorus, Ukraine: European Medical Students' Association, Винницкий обласной наркологический диспансер, , Turkey: EMSA - European Medical Students' Association, Civil Life Society / SİYAM, HOSPITAL RESEARCH AND PRACTICE, Marmara Media Center,  Azerbaijean: AzDimension, Azərbaycan Tələbə Gənclər Təşkilatları İttifaqı,  Bulgaria, Georgia: IDP Women Association "Consent", National Integration and Tolerance in Georgia - Tbilisi Youth Center,  X-SporTs, Lithuania: Lietuvos sveikatos mokslų universitetas (LSMU), Lietuvos sveikatos mokslų universitetas (LSMU), Portugal.

The idea of the conference was to build capacity for youth organizations and young people to become advocates of a more comprehensive alcohol policy in Europe. The conference was offer parallel sessions focusing on youth research on alcohol, project development and advocacy on alcohol policy.

In first day of the Conference was invited Mr. Octavian Bodișteanu, Minister of Youth and Sports Ministry of Moldova, representative of the Health Ministry of Moldova . Minister say: „I am gald that this conference was organised in Moldova, hope this will be a tradition”, his advise for participants: "Make more sport". The conference has three parallel sessions, according to the expertise of the participants:
» Project development training course (beginners and intermediate) targeted to young people who haven't yet worked on the alcohol-related field and the ones who already worked on the alcohol-related fields and would like to develop advanced projects tackling different alcohol-related issues,
» Training course for youth researchers (intermediate) aimed to those willing to work on scientific research regarding alcohol use among youth,
» Training course on alcohol policy, advocacy and lobbying (intermediate and advanced), aimed for those willing to influence local, national and international alcohol policy.

The project is supported by the European Commission – Youth in Action programme, Slovenian Ministry of Health, Ministry of Youth and Sport of Moldova and it was organized in cooperation with the National Youth Council of Moldova (CNTM).
