Activity Background


The Moldova Structural Reform Program (2017-2021) is a USAID-funded, four-year project that aims to improve the business and trade environment in Moldova by helping Government of Moldova institutions and private sector accelerate the implementation of trade liberalization mechanisms, adopt structural and business enabling reforms, and improve strategic communications between private and public actors. The project field office will be located in Chisinau, Moldova.


Roles and Responsibilities


The Translator/Administrative Assistant will report to the Finance and Administration Manager and will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Finance and Administration Manager, Chief of Party (COP) and Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), and assist with translations for the project. Specific tasks may include:


  • Providing translation of project documents into and from English and Romanian

  • Providing interpretation at various meetings into and from English and Romanian

  • Providing general assistance in the day to day management of the field office

  • Handling incoming and outgoing calls, answering telephone inquiries, forwarding calls, and taking messages when necessary

  • Greeting and assisting office visitors

  • Picking up and delivering mail and handling general correspondence

  • Developing and maintaining a correspondence filing system

  • Providing logistical support for meetings, conferences, and events

  • Assisting the Procurement and Subcontracts Manager with the vendor procurement process

  • Receiving invoices from vendors and issuing payment documents

  • Making hotel reservations for short-term consultants and home office staff

  • Providing administrative support for activities as requested


Minimum Qualifications


  • Ability to translate (both verbally and written) to and from English and Romanian is required

  • Ability to translate (both verbally and written) to and from Russian preferred

  • Experience in managing travel, schedules, organizing events, workshops, project documentation

  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • At least one year of administrative and/or technically relevant work experience

  • Previous experience with USAID programs preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
