A pool of two Junior Non-Key Expert on preparation of materials for IPR courses for e-learning platform

Project Office within the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Chisinau, Moldova

Project objective

The Project “Support to Enforcement of the Intellectual Property Rights” has started on 10 November 2016 and will last for two years until November 2018.

The overall objective of the Project is to improve the application of the law and regulations on Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova.

The expected results of the Project are the following:

  • Improved communication and effectiveness of IP enforcement in the Republic of Moldova;
  • Communication system set-up between the main contributors to IP protection;
  • Enhanced competence and effectiveness of all staff and officials involved in IP protection and enforcement;
  • Improved awareness of the rights and obligations of the IP community in the Republic of Moldova;
  • Improved protection and capitalization of Geographical Indications in the Republic of Moldova.

Specific work requirements

  1. a) The JNKE on preparation materials for law students (JNKE 1) will perform the following detailed activities:
  2. analise experience of curricular preparation for IPR course for law students in Moldova as well other selected EU and CIS countries (2 WD);
  3. prepare the curricular, discuss it with Project’s experts, AGEPI specialists; present the curricular at the Workshop (3 WDs);
  4. pay attention in the curricular, in particularly, to issues of EU IPR protection: general characteristic of the EU IPR law, approaches of patenting inventions abroad under PCT, EPO, European patent with unitary effect, civil and customs enforcement of IPR in the EU;
  5. prepare reading materials for students (from open sources of information) 2.5 days
  6. prepare Power point presentation for introductory lecture to the course with highlighting main issues and tasks of the course; 1 days
  7. prepare and deliver the introductory lecture to be recorded for the e-learning platform 1.5 day
  1. b) The JNKE on model curricular for IPR course technical and natural sciences students (JNKE 2) will perform the following detailed activities:
  • analyse experience of curricular preparation for IPR courses for technical and natural sciences students in Moldova as well other selected EU and CIS countries (2 WD);
  • prepare the curricular, discuss it with Project’s experts, AGEPI specialists; present the curricular at the Workshop (3 WD);
  • pay attention in the curricular in particularly to the principles of creativity in technical and natural sciences field; peculiarities of filing the national applications for inventions; IPR objects actual for technical and natural sciences students; approaches of patenting inventions abroad under direct patenting in the EU member-states, under PCT, EPO, European patent with unitary effect.
  • prepare reading materials for students (from open sources of information) (2.5 days);
  • prepare interactive Power point presentation for introductory lecture to the course with highlighting main issues and tasks of the course (1 WD);
  • deliver the introductory lecture to be recorded for the e-learning platform (1.5 WD).

The missions should be implemented in cooperation with the Key Expert 3.

Results and deliverables

  • The expected outputs and results of these Missions are:
  • curricular for IPR course for law students (NKE 1);
  • curricular for IPR course for technical and natural sciences students (NKE 2);
  • reading materials for the courses (NKE1, NKE 2);
  • PPP for the courses (NKE1, NKE 2);
  • participation with presentations at the Workshop (NKE 1, JNKE 2);
  • delivering the introduction lecture for the course (NKE 1, NKE 2).
  • Presenting the outputs and results in the Mission Report.

Education and skills

  • Education: university degree in law, technical, natural science or a closely related discipline;
  • Good planning and organizational skills;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Knowledge of English is an asset;
  • Ability to work in mixed local and international team of experts.

Professional experience

  • At least 5 years professional experience in one or more of the following areas: teaching IPR courses at the universities;
  • Academic publications, research experience on issues of IPR.

Subordination and Cooperation

Reports and draft recommendations produced by the JNKEs shall be submitted to the Project Team Leader and Key Expert 3. The expert will cooperate with the project team, STE and all beneficiary organizations. The expert will submit a written report at the end of the assignment.
