Administrative Assistant/Translator

The German Development Cooperation through GIZ is looking for an Administrative Assistant/Translator within its project “Inter-municipal Water Management along Dniester“.This is a limited term position of up to 1 year, aimed to replace the existing employee for the period of maternity leave. 

The Administrative Assistant/Translator will support the Project Manager and project team on the day-to-day activities implementation.

The main responsibilities shall include:

  • supporting the project management in organizing and conducting project activities and events;
  • assisting the project management in organising and coordinating all project work stages;
  • providing office management services;
  • communicating efficiently with project partners with which regular contact is maintained;
  • providing verbal translation at events and official meetings;
  • providing written translation of project documents and papers;
  • proofreading, editing, and revising translated materials, ensuring that translations retains the content and meaning of the original material;
  • performing all daily duties in the assigned area of responsibility.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Foreign Languages, Public Administration, Law and/or Economics;
  • at least 2-3 years of general work experience in international projects, involving translations (written and verbal), as an in-house or full-time employee;
  • excellent English and Romanian writing and communication skills; Russian writing and communication skills would be an advantage;
  • Able to work independently with no supervision and under stressing deadlines;
  • Able for teamwork and supportive to colleagues;
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Internet and other)
  • Willing and able to travel inside and outside the country for event support, when needed.

Applicants have to be citizens of the Republic of Moldova, residing inside the country for a period of over 6 months before the date of application.
