Systems Administrator

The Moldova Competitiveness Project (MCP) funded by USAID and the Swedish Government and the Moldova High Value Agriculture Activity (HVAA) funded by USAID, (here, “Projects”) and implemented by Chemonics International, Inc., aim to grow and expand key economic sectors in Moldova. The Projects work on funding activities that will enhance local capacity, trade, innovation, entrepreneurship, and competitiveness, among actors in the targeted industries – high-value agriculture, wine, tourism, light industry, and Information Communication Technology (ICT) clustered with creative services and precision engineering.

The Projects seek a Systems Administrator to support both Projects on a full-time capacity the technical and operations teams with multifaceted IT support focused on pro-active, solution-oriented service. The Systems Administrator shall split evenly his/her time between the two Projects.

The Systems Administrator shall have the following illustrative duties and responsibilities:
• Work with the Procurement Specialists to prepare RFQs for all information communication technologies (ICT) procurements for the Projects offices and for Projects beneficiaries (such as grantees), and coordinate deliveries and confirm receipt and quality of goods received
• Establish and maintain hardware and software configuration in Projects offices including SharePoint; renewal of Projects and beneficiary domains and hosting
• Arrange for all ICT repairs including identifying service vendor as appropriate
• Maintain all ICT (including but not limited to SharePoint, local hard drive, telephone, email, Internet, and printer/scanner) systems, and be available to project staff to trouble shoot and advise
• Pro-actively verify staff systems on a regular basis to ensure there are no syncing or other software/hardware issues
• Ensure IT compliance with Chemonics and USAID policies, and liaise with home office IT department as needed
• Maintain Projects IT inventory and conduct regular and pro-active backups
• Perform any other reasonable professional duties as assigned by the Chiefs of Party (COP), Deputy Chiefs of Party (DCOP), Operations and SEED Fund Director, Finance and Administration Managers, Organizational Development/AITTF Senior Manager.
• Respect and abide by all the internal regulations of the Representative Office, as expressed in the Chemonics International Field Office Policy Manual

• Minimum 3 years of work experience in IT, systems administration and other related fields.
• Minimum a bachelor degree in IT, systems administration, business administration, and other related fields.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, ability to prioritize and work on multiple activities simultaneously.
• Excellent customer service, solution oriented inter-personal communication and mediation skills; team-player.
• Excellent English and Romanian written and oral proficiency.
